Meet Amy McClean of Coffman Excavation
Amy McClean, Site Safety Manager for Coffman Excavation, has been in the construction industry for over a decade. As an early adopter of Highwire, McClean played a pivotal role in introducing an innovative approach to managing and assessing subcontractors within Cofman.
McClean credits her brother for helping her enter the construction industry 15 years ago. As she approaches five years with Coffman, McClean says her curiosity and desire to learn the ins and outs of safety and risk management hasn’t wavered.
“There are so many different safety professionals that there’s always somebody to bounce an idea or a thought off of,” McClean says. “It’s good to get other perspectives.”
McClean stresses the importance of a company’s safety culture, reflecting strong relationships between workers and management on and off the job site. She emphasizes, “Trust is a two-way street: you have to get to know and trust your workers in the field, and they, in turn, have to know and trust you.”
